Retract Power Controller
We designed this following a few requests from fellow modellers.
The latest generation of retract controllers often have a button that allows you to cycle the retracts without having to use the radio. Very helpful, but this often lead to a residual power draw from the retract battery and several modellers have killed batteries leaving them connected for a few days.
The Retract Power Switch detects the power from the RX and via an opto isolated power switch enables power to the retract unit when it sees power from the RX.
The Retract Power Switch (RPS) sits inline between the retract battery and the retract unit AND inline between the RX and the retract unit.
Simply unplug the battery from the retract unti and plug it into the RPS, then plug in the RPS to the retract unit. Next unplug the rx feed to the retract unit and plug that into either position on the signal port of the RPS and attach a patch lead from the RPS to the retract unit.
The RPS includes an override button. This allows you to power up the retract unit without the RX being powered. Press and hold this button and you can then access the retract cycling function of the retract unit with the radio being on.
